Frequently asked questions

Is the sign PDF tool free, and is there a page limit?

It is free with no account, watermark or page limit. You can add as many signatures, initials, dates and text boxes as you need, on any page of the document, before downloading the signed copy.

Is my PDF uploaded when I sign it?

No. The PDF is displayed with PDF.js and the signature is added with pdf-lib, both running in your browser after loading from a public CDN. Your document and signature never leave your device and aren’t stored by us.

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?

Drop the PDF here, draw or type your signature, click + Signature and drag it onto the signature line, then add + Date if needed. Click Download signed PDF and send the new file by email or upload it where it’s requested.

Is this a legally binding digital signature?

The tool adds a visual electronic signature, an image of your signature placed on the page. It is not a certificate-based digital signature with identity verification or tamper sealing. Many recipients accept this kind of e-signature, but check what your recipient requires.

How do I add my handwritten signature from a photo?

Sign on white paper, take a clear photo and choose the Upload tab. The white background is removed automatically, so only your ink appears on the page. Then click + Signature and position it.

Will the signed PDF work in Adobe Acrobat and other readers?

Yes. Signatures and text are embedded as images in a standard PDF, so they display the same in Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, Edge and mobile viewers. Rotated pages are handled, and the original text and layout are left unchanged.
