Frequently asked questions

Is the case converter free, and is there a text length limit?

Yes, it’s free with no sign-up. There’s no fixed length limit; the tool converts as you type and shows character, word and line counts, so it handles anything from a single headline to long lists of titles.

Is the text I paste into the case converter private?

Yes. All conversion happens in your browser with JavaScript, and your text isn’t sent to our server or any other service. Nothing is saved after you close the page unless you copy or download the result.

How do I convert a headline to AP style title case?

Paste the headline, click Title Case and choose AP (news) in the Style menu. Short words like a, the, and, of and to stay lowercase unless they come first, last or right after a colon or dash. Switch the style to compare Chicago, APA or MLA.

How do I fix text typed in all caps?

Paste it in and click Sentence case or Title Case. The tool notices when most of the text is in capitals and lowercases it properly instead of keeping every word as an acronym. Sentence case capitalizes the first word after periods, question marks and exclamation points, plus the pronoun I.

What’s the difference between camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case?

camelCase starts lowercase and capitalizes later words (userName); PascalCase capitalizes every word (UserName); snake_case uses lowercase with underscores (user_name); kebab-case uses hyphens (user-name). CONSTANT_CASE, Train-Case, dot.case and path/case are also available.

Does the case converter keep acronyms and brand names like iPhone?

Yes, when Keep acronyms & brand names is checked, words such as NASA, iPhone, eBay and U.S. keep their original casing in Title Case and Sentence case. Untick the box if you want every word forced to the chosen style.
