How to use PDF to JPG

  1. 1. Drop a PDF into the upload box or click it to choose one from your device. If you select several files at once, only the first PDF is converted.
  2. 2. Wait while the pages render — the status line shows “Rendering page X of Y,” so you can follow progress on long documents.
  3. 3. Scroll through the page previews in the grid. Every page is rendered at twice the PDF’s standard size and saved as a JPG at 90% quality.
  4. 4. Click Download 1, Download 2 and so on under each preview to save that page as a JPG named after your PDF and the page number.

Frequently asked questions

Is PDF to JPG conversion free, and is there a page limit?

Yes, it’s free with no sign-up or watermark. The tool sets no page or file size limit; every page of the PDF is converted. Very long or image-heavy documents take longer and use more memory, because the rendering happens on your own device.

Is my PDF uploaded when I convert it to JPG?

No. The PDF is opened and rendered by the PDF.js library inside your browser, and the JPG images are created on your device. Your document isn’t sent to GrabCast’s servers, which makes the tool suitable for contracts, statements and other private files.

How do I convert just one page of a PDF to a JPG?

Drop the PDF in, wait for the previews to appear, and click the Download button under the page you need. Each page has its own button, so you can save a single page, a few pages or all of them.

Why won’t my PDF convert to JPG?

Password-protected (encrypted) or damaged PDFs can’t be rendered, and you’ll see a “Couldn’t open this PDF” message. Remove the password in the app that created the file, or re-save it as a standard PDF, then try again.

What resolution are the JPG images made from a PDF?

Pages are rendered at twice the PDF’s standard size — about 144 DPI, so a US Letter page becomes roughly 1224 × 1584 pixels — and saved as JPG at 90% quality. That’s sharp enough for screens, slides, email attachments and social posts.

Can I convert a PDF to PNG instead of JPG with this tool?

This tool outputs JPG only, which keeps files small for photos and scanned pages. JPG images open everywhere — Windows Photos, macOS Preview, iPhone, Android, Word and Google Slides. If you need lossless images for sharp line art, use a converter that exports PNG.
